DIN 17440 X20CrNi17-2: Premium Quenched & Tempered Steel for High-Performance Use
Properties: - 17%-Cr-steel, able for quenching and tempering - good resistance to water, weak acids, brines and stronger oxidising acids (nitric acid) - good runnability and wear properties - high polishable - danger of galling, so use different grades of quenching and tempering when slide contact - application temperature: -40 to 550 °C Application: - for high-loaded engine pieces, like pump and compressor construction, shipbuilding - food industry, soap industry and acetic acid industry
