EN 1652 CuZn20Al2As R330: Advanced Corrosion-Resistant Copper Alloy
CuZn20Al2As (CW702R former identification: CuZn20Al2) is an unhardenable copper alloy. High hardness and strength values are achievable by cold forming only. Strength properties, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance are increasable by Al-addition. CuZn20Al2As is seawater and dezincification resistant, and insensitive to stress corrosion in stress-relieved condition. Processing properties: warm forming: moderately cold forming: moderately machinability: moderately hard soldering: moderately soft soldering: unfavorable TIG-welding: good burnishing: very good The material is predominantly suitable for smooth and ribbed tubes and for heat-exchanger in condenser construction as well as for seawater pipelines. It is due to its favorable corrosion and erosion behaviour a reliable material in cooling water with salinities of more than 0,2%, e.g. in brack and seawater at water speed up to 2,5 m/s. In the case of a natural protective oxide film damage occurs a self-healing process.
