X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 (Grade X2) – Solution Annealed Stainless Steel, EN 10088-1 Certified

Material X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 is comparable to X 2 CrNiMoN 22 5 3 acc. to SEW 400 : 1991-02. It is applicated acc. to VdTÜV-Wbl 418 : 1999-03 for pressure vessels as per TRB 100 as well as for pipelines acc. to TRR 100 and AD-data sheets W 2 and W 9 from -10 to 280 °C. The material is applicable up to -40 °C. if for this temperature was proven a notch impact energy KV with a minimum average value (3 V-tests) of 40 joule. The steel is usable up to -60 °C. in a loading case II acc. to AD-data sheet W 10 . It can be used for pipelines and pipeline components acc. to TRbF and TRGL from -10 to 280 °C., in nuclear power engineering as far as nuclear rules or object-related specifications permit use from -10 to 280 °C. This material is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion. Its welding suitability is examined allowing for general accepted engineering rules for metal inert gas welding, metal arc welding as well as for submerged welding. Similar or fully austenitic welding rods or wire electrodes and covered rod electrodes, as far as they are suitability tested , have to be used as filler metals. The working temperature should not exceed 250 °C. Heat treatment after welding is not necessary. The material is cold and warm formable and tends to 475 °C.- embrittlement. After an operating time > 5000 h at 325 °C. and > 1000 h at 350 °C. the notch impact energy/strength may decrease to 50 % of the values of the standard. To the alloy acc. to DIN EN 10088-1 : 1995-08 applies: This material shows high resistance to stress corrosion. Good resistance to pitting and intercrystalline corrosion also in welded condition. The steel shows good general resistance in many corrosive media, such as organic and inorganic acids, resistance under acid gas conditions and good suitability for warm and cold forming as well as for welding. Application: chemical and petrochemical industry, for presure boiler, heat exchanger and pipes, in offshore technology.
