EN 10088-1 Grade X2CrNiN18-10: Solution-Annealed Steel for High-Temperature Strength & Corrosion Resistance
The austenitic CrNi-steel X2CrNiN18-10, comparable to X 2 CrNiN 18 10 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07, shows a higher yield point by nitrogen alloying which survives also at higher temperatures. This is used in pressure vessel and leightweight construction. Improvement of the corrosion resistance by its N-content. The material is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion also in sensitized condition. Suitability for chemical apparatus engineering owing to resistance to nitric acid and other oxidizing media. This steel is well cold formable and suitable for mirror finishing. Excellent applicability for refrigeration up to -270 °C. due to its cryogenic toughness (for the comparable DIN-material).
