EN 10028-7 X2CrNiN18-10: Nitrogen‑Enhanced Austenitic Steel – Solution Annealed & Aged

The austenitic CrNi-steel X2CrNiN18-10 shows an by N-alloying increased yield point that remains even at higher temperatures. Used in pressure vessel construction and in leight weight construction. Corrosion resistance enhancement by N-content. Resistance to intercrystalline corrosion also in sensitized condition. Suitability for chemical apparatus engineering because of resistance to nitric acid and other oxidizing media. In pressure vessel construction (also in the beverage industry) approved up to 300 °C, otherwise subject to authorization. The steel is well cold formable and usable for mirror-polishing. Excellent suitability for refrigeration up to -270 °C due to its low temperature ductility.
