DIN 17440 Grade X5CrNi18-10 Quenched: High-Performance Austenitic Steel for Corrosion-Resistant Applications
Properties: - standard type of austenitic CrNi-steels with high corrosion resistance - good workability, very good able for cold forming - application temperature: -200 to 550°C Application: - for welded components of constructions in chemical industry, food industry, housewares, breweries, architecture, automobile industry, pumps, compressors, fittings - for applications in water and moderatly contaminated sewage - for pressure tanks construction up to 300°C, above 300°C subjects to authorisation - in architecture for decorative purposes, for example for sanitary facilities, sheetings, doors and windows - permitted for supporting components (approval notification number Z-30.44.1Institut für Bautechnik Berlin, 01.02.1994): prevailing strength grades are E 225 and E 355
