DIN 17440 X2CrNiN18-10: High‑Yield, Nitrogen‑Enhanced Austenitic Steel (Quenched Grade +Q)
Properties - austenitic CrNi-steel - because of addition of nitrogen gets higher yield strength, which is resistant to higher temperature, used in pressure tank construction and light constructions - N-content lets increase the corrosion resistance - good able for cold forming - high polishable Application: - low temperature toughness up to -270°C, because of this applicable in refrigeration engineering - suitable for chemical constructions, because of its resistance to nitric acid and other oxidising media - for pressure tank construction up to 300°C, above 300°C subjects to authorisation
