DIN 17440 X2CrNiMoN17-11-2 Austenitic Steel – Quenched Grade (+Q)

The full austenitic steel X2CrNiNoN17-11-2, mat. no. 1.4406, has an higher yield strength and structure stability also at higher temperatures and a better resistance to oxidising media because of the added N. The steel is resistant to intercrystalline and selective corrosion, both in the delivery condition and in the welded condition. According DIN 17440 : 1996-09 the material is used for flat products and rods (for pressure vessels), forgings and wires, acc. DIN 17441 : 1997-02 for cold rolled sheet and slit strip for pressure vessels. The limiting temperature (operating time up to 100000 h no intercrystalline corrosion) amounts to 400 degrees C. According to DIN 17440 : 1985-07 (X 2 CrNiMoN 17 12 2) resp. DIN EN 10088-1,-2,-3 : 1995-08 (X2CrNiMoN17-11-2) applies: application in the chemical apparatus construction for pressure vessels, in the cellulose industry, colour industry, cosmetic industry and textile industry, brewerys and milk plants. The material is high polishable.
