Albis Plastics Splits Distribution and Compounding Units Under Otto Krahn Group
Albis Plastics (U.S., office in Duncan, S.C.) has completed the strategy and growth program announced in 2019, marking a new chapter in the 100‑year history of Germany’s Otto Krahn Group Holding. The resin distribution and compounding businesses are now operating as separate entities within the Otto Krahn Group.
Under the globally recognized Albis brand, the distribution arm continues to serve customers worldwide, while the newly formed Mocom brand will focus on thermoplastic compounding. The group also encompasses the Krahn Chemie Group and the U.K.‑based automotive plastics recycler Wipag.
“The new structure is good for our customers, our distribution partners, and the group as a whole,” said Philip O. Krahn, CEO of Otto Krahn Group. “We have reorganised historically grown structures, clarifying responsibilities for results and costs, shortening decision paths, and boosting professionalism and efficiency across all divisions.”

Horst Klink, formerly vice‑president of distribution, now leads Albis’s distribution business. Ian Mills, ex‑chief sales officer, serves as CEO of the new Mocom compounding arm. “We are an innovative thermoplastic compounder that develops high‑quality, sustainable solutions at competitive prices, working closely with customers to deliver a globally‑available product portfolio,” Mills said.
Mocom’s portfolio features specialty Alcom nylon compounds and Tedur PPS, along with custom blends sold under the Altech, Altech NXT PP, and Alfater XL TPV brands. The company also offers high‑quality ‘Near‑to‑Prime’ recycled compounds such as Altech Eco and Alfater XL Eco. Mocom operates three sites: Germany, the Duncan, S.C. facility, and a production plant in Changshu, China.
