Hydraulic Institute Invites North American Experts to Review Updated Air‑Operated Pump Standards

The Hydraulic Institute (HI), accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is inviting qualified North American professionals to review the draft of two updated ANSI/HI standards: ANSI/HI 10.1‑10.5 – Air‑Operated Pumps for Nomenclature, Definitions, Application, and Operation and ANSI/HI 10.6 – Air‑Operated Pump Tests.

These standards cover positive‑displacement air‑operated pumps, including diaphragm, bellows, and piston pumps. The first document outlines terminology, design, installation, and maintenance, while the second establishes testing protocols—primarily conducted with water at ambient temperature—for diaphragm and bellows pumps.

We are seeking input from individuals and organizations directly impacted by these standards—pump users, specifiers, manufacturers, standards developers, government agencies, and industry groups. Your expertise will help shape robust, industry‑relevant guidelines that benefit the entire pump community.

To join the canvass, please contact Karen Anderson, Technical Affairs Administrator, at kanderson@Pumps.org or call 973‑267‑9700, ext. 123.

HI Pump Standards are trusted references for users, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and system integrators. The Hydraulic Institute continually updates its catalog to meet evolving industry needs. Explore the full library of ANSI standards for the pump sector—available in electronic and print formats—at the HI eStore or by calling 973‑267‑9700, ext. 118.
