Lattice CrossLink‑NX FPGA: 75% Lower Power, 10× Smaller, 100× More Reliable for Edge AI

Lattice CrossLink‑NX FPGA: 75% Lower Power, 10× Smaller, 100× More Reliable for Edge AI Lattice’s CrossLink‑NX family is engineered on the Nexus platform, merging a 28‑nm fully depleted silicon‑on‑insulator (FD‑SOI) process with a custom low‑power fabric. Designed for embedded vision and edge AI, the series delivers up to 75 % lower power than comparable FPGAs in the same class.

The flagship device comes in a 6 × 6 mm package—roughly one‑tenth the size of rivals—making it ideal for outdoor, industrial, and automotive deployments. With a soft‑error rate up to 100 × lower, CrossLink‑NX is suitable for mission‑critical environments that demand exceptional reliability.

Key interface options include MIPI‑D‑PHY, PCIe Gen3, and DDR3 SDRAM, while a memory‑to‑logic ratio of 170 bits per logic cell offers ample embedded storage. Rapid reconfiguration is another advantage: I/O can be updated in just 3 ms and full device configuration completes in under 15 ms, enabling instant‑on operation for time‑sensitive applications.

CrossLink‑NX is backed by a comprehensive ecosystem of design software, IP blocks, and reference designs, ensuring a smooth development experience. Although originally slated for a 2020 launch, Lattice accelerated delivery and is already supplying sampled devices to early adopters.
