ROHM Launches BD71850MWV PMIC for NXP i.MX 8M Nano Processors

ROHM Launches BD71850MWV PMIC for NXP i.MX 8M Nano ProcessorsROHM today announced the BD71850MWV, a highly integrated power‑management IC (PMIC) engineered specifically for NXP Semiconductors’ i.MX 8M Nano family. The PMIC delivers 95 % efficient DC/DC conversion, integrates every power rail required by the processor, and supports DDR and system‑IO supplies—all in a single compact package. It is the newest addition to ROHM’s expanding line of PMICs tailored to NXP’s i.MX series, complementing the BD71837AMWV for i.MX 8M Quad/Dual and the BD71847AMWV for i.MX 8M Mini.

The i.MX 8M Nano processor brings four Arm Cortex‑A53 cores (up to 1.5 GHz) and an Arm Cortex‑M7 core (up to 750 MHz) into one die, enabling cost‑effective voice interfaces and audio streaming solutions. With built‑in audio‑core support, high‑speed I/O, and low‑standby power consumption, it serves a broad spectrum of consumer and industrial applications.

Key features of the BD71850MWV include a programmable power sequencer for flexible sequencing, a seamless hardware‑control interface to the i.MX 8M Nano, a buffered sleep clock, and comprehensive protection functions. These capabilities, combined with ROHM’s proven analog power expertise and advanced BCD process technology, reduce development time, lower BOM costs, and shrink board footprint. Notably, the BD71850MWV is the sole PMIC integrated into NXP’s i.MX 8M Nano evaluation kit, allowing developers to evaluate performance immediately.
