ADLINK Partners with Intel to Upgrade CSA‑7210/7400 and ALPS‑4800 with 2nd‑Gen Xeon Scalable Processors

ADLINK Technology has announced a partnership with Intel to refresh its carrier‑grade network appliances, the CSA‑7210/7400 series, and its AI training platform, the ALPS‑4800, with the new 2nd‑Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This development underscores ADLINK’s commitment to delivering Intel® Select Solution for Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI) and will make the updated products available in Q4 2019.

The 2nd‑Gen Xeon Scalable family brings Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, delivering peak frequencies of up to 4.4 GHz, and expanded memory support for Intel Optane DC persistent memory and higher‑speed DDR4 modules. Beyond raw compute, the processors include Intel Deep Learning Boost, which adds Vector Neural Network Instruction (VNNI) support, and Intel Speed Select Technology, allowing dynamic allocation of resources to match workload demands. Hardware‑enhanced security features further protect data, maintain workload integrity, and curb malicious exploits with minimal performance impact.

The CSA‑7210/7400 (2U/4U) are next‑generation, high‑performance, carrier‑grade Commercial‑Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) network security platforms built on ADLINK’s Open Compute Carrier‑Grade Edge Reference Architecture (OCCERA). They integrate advanced network interfaces, switches, and compute capacity to deliver high throughput, dense I/O, parallel processing, and carrier‑grade availability. Standardized API management and a highly configurable architecture make the CSA‑7210/7400 suitable for a broad range of deployments, from next‑generation firewalls and telecommunications to Multi‑Access Edge Computing (MEC). Leading system integrators worldwide have already deployed the CSA‑7210/7400 in IDS/IPS solutions and SD‑WAN enterprise service platforms.

The ALPS‑4800 is ADLINK’s latest AI training platform, capable of supporting up to eight GPU accelerators within a 4U chassis. Designed as a workload‑aware acceleration system for Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and High‑Performance Computing, it serves smart‑factory, smart‑city, mobile‑robotics, defense, medical, and digital‑security‑surveillance applications. A dual‑Intel Xeon Scalable processor server node, coupled with a PCIe expansion board featuring PCIe switching, gives the ALPS‑4800 a highly configurable, scalable architecture. It can accommodate various GPU‑CPU topologies and bandwidths with simple cable adjustments, and InfiniBand support enables seamless scaling to multi‑GPU clusters.
