Kontron Introduces COMe‑m4AL10 (E2): Scalable COM Express Type‑10 Module with 16 GB LPDDR4 and Dual/Quad‑Core Intel Processors

Kontron has unveiled the new COMe‑m4AL10 (E2) – a compact, scalable COM Express Type‑10 module that delivers up to 16 GB of LPDDR4 memory and Intel’s latest 5th‑generation Atom, Pentium or Celeron processors.

With a footprint of only 84 mm × 55 mm and an industrial temperature rating of ‑40 °C to +85 °C, the module is engineered for space‑constrained environments such as medical imaging suites, autonomous vehicle control units, surveillance systems, and defense platforms.

Key features include dual‑core or quad‑core processor options, two independent high‑resolution displays (1× DP++ 4096 × 2160 @ 60 Hz and 1× Single‑Channel LVDS 3840 × 2160 @ 30 Hz), dual SATA II 300 Mbps ports, optional eMMC up to 128 GB, two serial ports, two USB 3.0 interfaces, up to eight USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and four PCI‑Express® Gen2 lanes for custom expansion.

For mission‑critical deployments, the E2 variant is built for industrial temperatures and offers long‑term availability, making it suitable for transportation, defense, and other demanding sectors.

Kontron extends its portfolio with the COMe‑mAL10 (E2) module that supports DDR3L ECC memory, providing customers with a full range of memory options.

Security is bolstered by the optional Kontron APPROTECT solution based on Wibu‑Systems CodeMeter, which enables licensing models such as pay‑per‑use and time‑based trials.

Broad software support includes Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 IoT, Linux, and VxWorks 7, with ready‑to‑go Board Support Packages (BSPs).
