DIN 17851 TiAl6V6Sn2 – Premium High-Strength, Corrosion-Resistant Titanium Alloy
Chemical composition: DIN 17851 TiAl6V6Sn2 with the material number 3.7175 (see also TiAl6V6Sn2, material number 3.7174, according to the Werkstoff-Leistungsblatt der Deutschen Luftfahrt WL 3.7174) belongs to the hardenable alpha + beta-titanium alloys. It is similar to the 3.7164 or 3.7165 (TiAl6V4), yet the beta-phase is more stable and the material shows higher strength. It possesses good resistance to corrosion, it is well forgeable, and the long-term application temperature is approximately 350 °C. Processing properties: Formability: limited (cold forming), good (hot forming) Weldability: limited (embrittlement of the welding and heat affected zone by transformation hardening, electron-beam welding) (Werkstoff-Leistungsblatt der Deutschen Luftfahrt WL: material specification of the German aviation)
