EN 10095 NiCr15Fe Soft Annealed (+A) – High-Temperature, Corrosion-Resistant Alloy
NiCr15Fe, contained in VdTÜV-material specification 305 : 1984-03 and supplement 305 : 1990-06 is an unhardenable alloy for application in wetchemical sector and at high temperatures. Material`s versatility causes a wide application range from low temperature range up to approx. 1150°C (highest application temperatures in air). Usable on oxidizing conditions due to the Cr-content, resistance to reducing conditions due to the high Ni-content. The alloy shows excellent properties also at high temperatures, in ammoniacal gases as well as in nitriding or carburizing athmosphere. It represents the standard material in furnace construction due to its high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance at increased temperatures as well as its favorable processability. NiCr15Fe shows favorable resistance to stress corrosion in the presence of chloride ions. The material is reliable in chemical engineering, application in caustic soda, formic acid, acetic acid and fatty acids. NiCr15Fe is suitable at temperatures of up to 550°C in dry gases, such as hydrogen chloride or chloric gas. Use in nuclear power engineering due to favorable resistance in high-purity water. Application for ammonia cracking facilities, gas carburization plants, nitration furnaces, production facilities for chlorinated and fluorinated hydrocarbon, ethylene dichloride cracking tubes, production lines for alkaline products, reactors and heat-exchanger in vinyl chloride production lines, facility components for production of sodium sulfide, steam generator tubes in nuclear power engineering. Processing properties: formability: good weldability: good machinability: good
