DIN 1654-5 Grade X6CrNiTi18-10 – Quenched & Tempered Stainless Steel for High‑Performance Applications
The steel X 6 CrNiTi 18 10 is well suited for cold-forming, however, one must be aware of the increased cold strain hardening compared to carbon steels. Cold-forming is not as good as with steel X 5 CrNi 18 12. The steel is used in chemical eqiupment construction, the fat- and soap industries for stainless steel screws, nuts and cold-extruded parts. It is used for corrosive damage from water, atmosphere and oxidizing acids of higher concentration and higher temperatures. Temperature of use: up to 550 degrees C (avoid the influence of substances causing intergranular corrosion).
