Productivity Inc. & OSU’s Fisher College Launch TPM Manager Certification for Executives

Middle- and top-level executives can now earn a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) certification through a partnership between Productivity Inc. and the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University.

The TPM Manager Certification Program is tailored for leaders who want to elevate process capability, enhance equipment reliability, and embed a collaborative culture—key pillars of successful continuous improvement.

“TPM transforms a reactive maintenance mindset into a proactive, preventive, scheduled, and corrective approach,” explains Maureen Fahey, managing partner of Productivity Inc. “Shifting from ad‑hoc repairs to strategic equipment management unlocks flexibility, cuts costs, and boosts capacity.”

Over four non‑consecutive weeks, participants engage in a series of intensive learning modules. Between sessions, they apply the concepts in their own organizations. Successful completion of the training, mentorship, a certification exam, and demonstrable implementation in the workplace earns certification from both Productivity Inc. and the Fisher College of Business.

“More organizations recognize that profitability hinges on asset reliability,” says Ellis New, senior management consultant at Productivity Inc. “Lean managers alone can’t drive the full scope of improvement. A certified TPM manager bridges that gap, creating the synergy needed for real success.”

In addition to the TPM Manager Certification, Productivity Inc. and the Fisher College of Business offer a Lean Manager Certification and a Lean Tool Awareness Certificate.

The next TPM Manager certification cohort begins on August 6, 2012, at the Ohio State University campus.
