University of Kansas Launches Comprehensive Online Certificate in Maintenance Management
Maintenance managers seeking to sharpen their skills and accelerate career growth can enroll in the University of Kansas Continuing Education’s online certificate program in Maintenance Management.
The curriculum is designed and delivered by Joel Levitt, a seasoned maintenance management trainer and director of international projects at Life Cycle Engineering.
Levitt highlights a pressing industry challenge: as Baby Boomers retire, organizations face workforce shortages and a loss of institutional knowledge. Incoming staff often lack the experience that underpins effective maintenance practices, which can compromise operational performance.
“High‑performing companies invest relentlessly in training their teams in the core competencies that drive success,” Levitt says. “Our goal is to move beyond nostalgia, engage hands‑on learning, and equip you with the essential skills from seasoned maintenance experts.”
The program’s foundation rests on three of Levitt’s cornerstone texts—Introduction to Maintenance Management, Planning and Scheduling Maintenance Activity, and Preventive and Predictive Maintenance. Delivered via a live, online format, the course eliminates travel constraints, offers flexible study windows, and provides personalized interaction through email and virtual office hours.
The upcoming cohort launches on September 23, 2014. For enrollment details and additional information, visit KU Continuing Education.
