SMRP Unveils 70+ Revised Asset Management Metrics with Best‑In‑Class Targets
The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) has just released an expanded suite of over 70 standardized industry metrics, designed to sharpen insight into asset‑management effectiveness and precision across the maintenance and reliability sector.
These updates equip professionals with best‑in‑class target values, empowering them to benchmark against industry leaders while gaining a clear grasp of the underlying formulas, ratios, statistics, definitions, and reference points that create a consistent, reliable performance yardstick.
While the current SMRP metrics outline key performance indicators, the newly added target values illustrate the practical application of each metric, helping teams answer the question: “What does excellence look like?”
“These metrics enable organizations to measurably elevate their operational impact,” says Shon Isenhour, SMRP Chair and Director of Education at GPAllied. “We’re proud to provide an industry‑wide tool that lets companies scrutinize critical internal data, fostering growth throughout our field.”
SMRP has also introduced a “bundles” search feature within its e‑Metrics portal, streamlining access to essential work‑management metrics. Bundles cover work identification, work planning, work scheduling, backlog management, people resource allocation, and material resource allocation.
