Mouser Electronics now carries Microchip’s SAM R34 LoRa Sub‑GHz System‑in‑Package (SiP) family, a compact 6 × 6 mm solution that merges a 32‑bit microcontroller, a full software stack, and a LoRa transceiver into a single chip.
The SAM R34 SiPs are built around Microchip’s SAM L21 MCU, powered by an ARM Cortex‑M0+ core. With up to 256 KB of flash and 40 KB of RAM, the device delivers high‑performance control while keeping power consumption minimal. Its onboard UHF transceiver supports LoRa and FSK modulation across 137 MHz to 1 020 MHz and can output up to +20 dBm without external amplification.
Microchip’s proprietary LoRaWAN stack is fully supported, enabling Class A and Class C end‑device operation as well as point‑to‑point links. The SiPs boast sleep currents as low as 790 nA, ensuring extended battery life for sensor‑driven and battery‑powered applications such as smart agriculture, smart city infrastructure, and supply‑chain tracking.
Each SiP includes a USB interface, making it ideal for USB dongles or OTA firmware updates. Mouser also stocks the SAM R34 Xplained Pro evaluation kit, which comes pre‑loaded with reference designs and software examples, and is FCC, IC, and RED certified, allowing developers to ship compliant products worldwide.
