Maxim’s MAX30101 Sensor Powers Fujitsu’s Senior‑Friendly Raku Raku Smartphone

Maxim Integrated Products has unveiled its MAX30101 heart‑rate sensor integrated into Fujitsu Connected Technologies’ Raku Raku Smartphone F‑01L. Designed for seniors, the device tracks heart rate, sleep, stress, and arterial aging, and doubles as a pedometer.

The MAX30101 delivers accurate vital‑sign readings through Fujitsu’s advanced algorithms. As part of Maxim’s biosensor portfolio, the module streamlines mobile and wearable development by combining multiple functions into a single, low‑power chip. It runs on a 1.8 V supply for the sensor and a separate 5.0 V supply for the internal LEDs. Software‑controlled shutdown achieves near‑zero standby current while keeping power rails active. An I²C‑compatible interface supports robust communication, and the sensor operates reliably from –40 °C to +85 °C.

With its intuitive design, the Raku Raku Smartphone F‑01L offers seniors a straightforward user experience, making it an attractive choice for first‑time smartphone users.
