Renesas Expands RX24T & RX24U MCU Lineup with High‑Temperature G Versions for Motor Control

Renesas Electronics has broadened its 32‑bit RX24T and RX24U microcontroller families by adding high‑temperature‑tolerant G variants. Designed for demanding motor‑control applications, the new RX24T G and RX24U G models operate reliably from –40 °C to +105 °C while retaining the speed, feature set, and energy efficiency that have made the RX24T and RX24U popular among developers.

Both families run at up to 80 MHz and include built‑in peripherals for motor control, such as advanced timers, an A/D converter, and dedicated analog circuitry. This enables a single chip to manage two brushless DC motors efficiently. Since their introduction two years ago, Renesas has shipped 10 million units of the RX24T and RX24U series, underscoring their proven reliability.

The G versions bring the entire 32‑bit RX MCU family to a unified –40 °C to +105 °C temperature range, offering system designers a richer, more scalable selection for motor‑control solutions. Developers can accelerate time‑to‑market by pairing the new MCUs with Renesas’s 24 V Motor Control Evaluation Kit.

Both the RX24T G and RX24U G are now in mass production. The RX24T G lineup includes 11 models with 64‑ to 100‑pin packages and 128 KB to 512 KB flash memory. The RX24U G range features six models, ranging from 100 to 144 pins and 256 KB to 512 KB of flash.
